Best experience ever! I was on vacation visiting my hometown Kannur from germany and dropped my (progressive) glasses which got scratched. I showed my specs to the optician who had a good look at them and basically knew which type of glasses were used.
Unfortunately, my malayalam isn‘t the best but I was very well advised in english about my options. I purchased the same type of glasses I got from germany as a replacement (Varilux Comfort Max). They are absolutely perfect, ready in 3 days and fitting them in my old frame was done in just under one hour.

I was traveling through Kerala and ended up in this optical shop almost by chance. Out of curiosity, I asked how much a full pair of prescription glasses for myopia would cost, with high-quality lenses, and how long it would take. I was honestly surprised: the quote was very good, much lower than typical European prices.
They offered Essilor Crizal Rock lenses (Luxottica group, so international high-quality standards) with anti-reflective and anti-scratch coating, index 1.67 perfect for my level of myopia. What really stood out, though, was the timing: less than 24 hours for a complete pair.
They did an eye test on the spot to confirm my previous prescription, which matched perfectly. Then I chose a good-quality frame from a wide selection. The lenses were fitted using precise machinery, and the glasses were ready the next day. They fit perfectly right away, no adjustments needed, and the vision is spot on.
Overall, great lenses, perfect assembly, excellent service, and a very fair price. The staff were kind, knowledgeable, fast, and professional.
If you’re traveling in India, getting prescription glasses made here is definitely something worth considering (for a good vision choose international lenses like Essilor and not local-made ones as they are not up to standard).
